A proper introduction

Those of you who know me will know how much I love writing lists; to-do lists, shopping lists, lists of things I like and dislike - I’m that person who will write something on their to-do list that’s already been done, just to get that satisfying feeling of ticking it off again (surely I’m not the only one?). Anyway, you get the picture – I’m a list maker. So, what better way to properly introduce myself on here than with a list of 10 things you may not know about me. I don’t know if this will even be of any interest to anybody but like I said – I love making lists so at least I’ll have had a good time, eh?

I moved to London 10 years ago

It’s so crazy to think that in September, I will have officially been a Londoner for 10 whole years. In some ways it’s whizzed by but when I actually think about it – a LOT has happened in those years and I still love living here just as much as I did 10 years ago.

I am a total girl’s girl

I think this is something that’s subconsciously embedded within me as I’ve always been surrounded by strong, ambitious, fabulous gals and I plan to keep it that way. I’m one of three sisters (the middle one) and until my little brother came along 12 years ago, it was just us girls. My mum and sisters taught me to be fiercely loyal, to make sure I hide my favourite clothes, that laughter is always the best medicine and that girls can do absolutely anything that boys can.

I LOVE potatoes

You know when people ask you to rank all the different forms of potatoes and you just reel off the first few you can think of without taking it too seriously? Well, for me, it’s very serious – when I say I love potatoes, I mean I LOVE potatoes. Especially hash browns. And roast potatoes. And mash. And chips. You get the point.

I am NOT a hugger

Now I know this is a bit of a controversial one and I don’t have too much to say to defend myself, but I just don’t like hugs. I’m sorry. I hate unnecessary contact and I was basically social distancing long before it was compulsory.

I failed my cycling proficiency test

No, I didn’t think it was possible to fail it either, but I did, and it scarred me for life. For anyone who doesn’t know what a cycling proficiency test is (because I don’t think it even exists anymore) – it was a test that you could take as a child to make sure you were safe to cycle on the road. It turns out – I wasn’t.

I'm a Leo

I’m not particularly into astrology and I definitely don’t believe that everybody fits into one of twelve character types but I’ll admit there are a few Leo traits that I can slightly relate to (obviously not the dramatic, attention seeking ones though…)

I don't like fizzy drinks

Now this is a funny one because I do actually love the taste of some fizzy drinks, I just can’t stand the fizz. I have to ‘de-fizz’ them before drinking them by shaking the bottle and slowly letting the air out. Yes, I know it’s strange.

I make fantastic choc chip cookies

I only really started to enjoy baking in the past year but in that time, I have absolutely perfected my chocolate chip cookie recipe. Sorry to blow my own trumpet here but I’ve found the perfect balance between a crunchy outside and a gooey inside and I literally cannot stop making them. GBBO, I’m ready when you are.

I watch the same films and TV programmes over and over again

I’ve done this for as long as I can remember – I will always choose a film/programme that I’ve seen before over something new because I like knowing how things are going to turn out. If I watch something new, I end up having to google what happens anyway because I just cannot handle the not knowing.

I'm terrified of spiders

I feel like there’s nothing more to say about this one – I’m just absolutely petrified of them. Eight is too many legs.

I hope you enjoyed those 10 (hopefully interesting) facts about me and I hope, if nothing else, that it’s reassured you that absolutely everyone has little quirks and strange habits. Feel free to let me know an interesting fact about you in the comments below – I’m super nosy and love learning new things about people.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!

Thrilled I’m not the only one who would find more comfort in rewatching friends for 2736th time than watching the latest Netflix series for the first time!!
